FAQ

Buying
Found one you like? Please reach out via email (preferred) or phone for additional details and to arrange payment and shipment. We accept wire transfers, checks, cashier’s checks or PayPal. Our margins are so tiny that we only take PayPal payments without fees or if you cover the fees. All transactions are in US Funds. We usually ship the following Monday after wire transfers or PayPal payments arrive and after a week on checks to allow for processing of funds. If you would like to place an instrument on hold, let’s talk. My official policy is this: I can hold an instrument for up to a month with a deposit of 20% of the purchase price or $2,000 USD, whichever is less. For instruments that are consigned, I need agreement from the instrument’s owner which is typically forthcoming. Cool?

Shipping
Buyer pays shipping costs. Please contact me with shipping details – including postal code and preferred vendor if any – and I will provide a quote. I typically ship via USPS Priority Mail or Priority Mail Express domestically and FedEx International Priority overseas. However, I will defer to your preference especially if you have an account with a shipper and/or freight forwarder and can send a label. I’ve had experiences will almost all carriers and will discuss pros, cons, and prices with you.

Unpacking
It is essential to let the guitar acclimatize to room temperature slowly to protect against cracks and finish checking especially in the winter and summer. I strongly recommend letting the box stand until it comes to room temperature, then opening the box and allowing the case come to room temperature before opening. This especially applies in the winter and summer months. When in doubt, 24 hours is a good rule of thumb. Your evaluation period will not begin until you unpack the guitar so you can be generous.

Evaluation period
Most shops allow a 48-hour approval period and I’m no exception. I typically ship Monday or Tuesday and, in the unlikely event you choose to return the instrument, I ask you to ship it back the following Monday or Tuesday via the same method that I shipped it. The approval period begins you take the guitar out of the case after allowing for acclimatization. If you need a little more time to make a decision, I’m generally flexible. If a return is made, refund will be issued for the purchase price less the cost of the shipping when the guitar is verified to be in the same condition as when it was shipped.
